A “green” message or an elegy?

The installation I shot at “Le 104” (yes – I made it out of the Maze!) is entitled “Waste Landscape” by artists Clémence Éliard & Élise Morin and consists of 60,000 unsold, rejected or thrown CDs! And since CDs are made from petroleum, the message is clear – Green is the way to go. But what makes this installation special, is the coincidence (or maybe not) that the space was for 120 years a… Funeral Home. Is it an elegy to Compact Discs becoming obsolete these days? But could an impressive installation have been made of MP3s ? Only time will tell!
